The Toronto Maple Leafs<\/strong> have traded forward\u00a0Peter Holland<\/a><\/strong> to the Arizona Coyotes <\/strong>on Friday in exchange for a conditional draft pick in 2018.<\/p>\n

Toronto Maple Leafs Trade Peter Holland to the Arizona Coyotes<\/h2>\n

According to reports by both teams, the Coyotes acquired Holland for a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2018. If Holland is signed or traded by the Coyotes, the Leafs will acquire the pick.<\/p>\n

A New Beginning<\/h2>\n

The trade comes in the wake of Holland’s recent frustrations with the Leafs. Last week, Holland and his agent met with Leafs general manager Lou Lamoriello<\/strong>, ultimately deciding that he would not be travelling with the team on their recent western road trip.<\/p>\n

Several trade speculations surrounding Holland soon followed after these events.<\/p>\n

Holland has only suited up for eight of the team’s 25 games this season. In these games, he has registered one point. In 203 career NHL<\/strong> games, Holland has 70 points (30 goals, 40 assists).<\/p>\n

Holland is coming off a career season, in which he scored 27 points in 65 games last season.<\/p>\n

Holland will likely slot in as the Coyotes fourth Centre, behind Martin Hanzal<\/a><\/strong>, Christian Dvorak<\/a><\/strong>, and Ryan White<\/a><\/strong>. The Coyotes currently sit last in the league standings with an 8-13-5 record.<\/p>\n

The Maple Leafs play the Boston Bruins<\/strong> Saturday, and the Coyotes play the Nashville Predators<\/strong> Saturday as well. Holland’s\u00a0playing status for Arizona’s game is unconfirmed.<\/p>\n
