This season, he scored one goal and three assists in 23 games, adding eight minutes in penalties. His possession numbers are 51.5 percent Corsi\u00a0and a relative Corsi of 4.2. Those totals are down compared to last season, where he scored six goals, 16\u00a0assists for 22 points.<\/p>\n<p>Over his ten-year NHL career, Del Zotto has played for the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/rangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>New York Rangers<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/predators\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Nashville\u00a0Predators<\/strong><\/a>, and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/flyers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Philadelphia Flyers<\/strong><\/a>. In that time, he has 26 goals and 95 assists for 121 career points in 292 career games. He was originally drafted in the\u00a0first<i>&#8211;<\/i>round,\u00a020th\u00a0overall of the\u00a02008 NHL draft by the\u00a0New\u00a0York Rangers.<\/p>\n<p>In Luke Schenn, the Canucks get a veteran defenseman who plays a similar physical style. Though, the team has already announced that he will report to the Utica Comets of the AHL.<\/p>\n<p>This season, Schenn has only appeared in eight NHL games this season with no points.\u00a0He did have seven penalty\u00a0minutes.\u00a0A small sample size, his possession numbers were 38.9 percent Corsi\u00a0and a relative Corsi of -3.2. He has spent most of the season with the San Diego Gulls. In 22 games, he had two goals and eight assists<\/p>\n<p>Over his 10-year NHL career Schenn has played for the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/maple-leafs\/\" target=\"_self\">Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a>, Philadelphia Flyers, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/kings\/\" target=\"_self\">Los Angeles Kings<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/coyotes\/\" target=\"_self\">Arizona Coyotes<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/ducks\/\" target=\"_self\">Anaheim Ducks<\/a>.\u00a0In that time, he has 30 goals and 113 assists for 143 career points in 716 career games. He was originally drafted fifth overall by the Leafs.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What This Means for the Future<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Del Zotto comes to the team as a pending unrestricted free agent, on the last year of the two-year, six million dollar deal he signed with the Canucks.
