He did not return to the game. Shaw is not taking part in today&#8217;s practice, with the Canadiens preparing to face the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/canucks\/\" target=\"_self\">Vancouver Canucks<\/a> tomorrow night. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/priceca01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carey Price<\/a><\/strong> and <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/schleda01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">David Schlemko<\/a><\/b>, who are both on injured reserve, did take part in the session.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Therapy day for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/danauph01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Phillip Danault<\/a>. The feisty forward was enjoying a successful road trip with the team, putting up four points in six games of that span.<\/p>\n<p>The severity of Shaw&#8217;s injury is currently unknown.<\/p>\n<p>In 35 games this season, Shaw has scored 11 goals and added 13 assists for 24 points.<\/p>\n<p>Over his career with the Canadiens and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/blackhawks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chicago Blackhawks<\/a>, Shaw has scored 103 goals and added 107 assists for 210 points in 477 games.<\/p>\n<p>Shaw was acquired by the Canadiens in a trade with the Blackhawks back in 2016. The Habs sent two second-round picks to the Blackhawks in return.<\/p>\n<p>Shaw is a two-time Stanley Cup champion as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks.<\/p>\n<h2>Bad News for the Habs<\/h2>\n<p>Losing Shaw for an extended period of time would be terrible news for the Canadiens. Shaw has been putting together quite the bounce back season after missing 31 games last season due to injury. Shaw has already surpassed his point total from last year in 15 fewer games. He has benefitted from the chemistry he found playing with <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/domima01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Max Domi<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/drouijo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jonathan Drouin<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 Recently he has been playing with rookie\u00a0centre <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/kotkaje01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jesperi Kotkaniemi<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/lehkoar01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Artturi Lehkonen<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If Shaw does, in fact, miss time, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/a\/armiajo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joel Armia<\/a>, who has been injured, will likely take his spot beside Kotkaniemi.\u00a0 Armia has also been practicing and seems close to a return.\u00a0 This would reunite the all-Finnish line that was playing well before Armia was hurt.\u00a0Armia has been out since November 6th after he suffered a right knee injury in a game against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/rangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Rangers<\/a>. His recovery period was expected to be 6-8 weeks and he is now practicing with the team.\u00a0In 15 games this season, Armia has scored three goals and added four assists for seven points.<\/p>\n<p>If Armia is not ready for a return,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/hudonch01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Charles Hudon<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0could draw back into the lineup. Hudon has been in coach <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/j\/juliecl01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Claude Julien<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s doghouse it seems, so it would be a good opportunity for him to step back into the lineup and try to work his way back into Julien&#8217;s good books.
