{"id":3946,"date":"2016-12-06T21:43:55","date_gmt":"2016-12-07T02:43:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/?p=3946"},"modified":"2016-12-06T21:43:55","modified_gmt":"2016-12-07T02:43:55","slug":"matt-beleskey-frank-vatrano-injury-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2016\/12\/06\/matt-beleskey-frank-vatrano-injury-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Matt Beleskey Injured; Frank Vatrano Returns to Practice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Boston Bruins<\/strong> announced on Monday night that left-winger\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/belesma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Matt Beleskey<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0injured his right knee and will miss up to six weeks.\u00a0In addition, the team announced that <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/v\/vatrafr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Frank Vatrano<\/a><\/strong> was able to join the team for practice on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<h2>Matt Beleskey Out Six Weeks<\/h2>\n<p>The 28-year-old Beleskey, who joined the Bruins as a free agent before the 2015-16 season, has put up five points in 24 games this season, and earned 37 in his first season in Boston. His previous seven seasons were spent as a member of the <strong>Anaheim Ducks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Beleskey&#8217;s injury occurred in the first period of the team&#8217;s 2-1 win over the <strong>Buffalo Sabres<\/strong>. He left the ice without assistance after an incidental knee-on-knee hit from Buffalo&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/f\/fedunta01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taylor Fedun<\/a><\/strong>. He suffered torn ligaments in his foot shortly<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>before training camp opened, and was unable to skate until last week. It is possible that he will be able to join the team in a full capacity soon. He may spend\u00a0some time in Providence for conditioning.
