The Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a> have announced that forward Zach Hyman<\/a><\/strong> will be out for at least the next three weeks with a sprained ankle. The injury occurred in Tuesday Night’s 7-2 thrashing of the New Jersey Devils<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Leafs Zach Hyman Out at Least Three Weeks<\/h1>\n

Hyman suffered an ankle sprain after he crashed feet first into the boards while he and Devils defenseman Andy Greene<\/strong><\/a> was chasing down the puck.<\/p>\n

Hyman is part of the Leafs top line which also features John Tavares<\/strong><\/a> and Mitch Marner<\/strong><\/a>. In 32 games this season, Hyman has scored seven goals and added eight assists.<\/p>\n

Over his career with the Maple Leafs, he has scored 36 goals and added 53 assists for 89 points in 212 games.<\/p>\n

Hyman was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers<\/a> in the 5th round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.<\/p>\n

He was acquired by the Leafs on June 19th, 2015 in exchange for Greg Mckegg.<\/p>\n

Life Without Hyman<\/h2>\n

Losing Hyman is a tough pill to swallow for the Maple Leafs who will be without one of the hardest workers on the team. Hyman has been an iron man for the Maple Leafs, only just recently missing his first two games of his career after being suspended<\/a> for a hit he laid on Bruins defenceman Charlie McAvoy<\/strong><\/a> on December 8th. Hyman has never missed a game due to injury.<\/p>\n

With Hyman out, the Leafs promoted Andreas Johnsson<\/a><\/strong> to the top line in Thursday Night’s game against the Florida Panthers<\/a>. The line had a strong game. Although Johnsson didn’t contribute a point, Tavares had a goal and an assist. Marner contributed one assist. The Leafs went on to win the game by a score of 6-1.<\/p>\n

The Maple Leafs next game will be on Saturday Night when they will host the New York Rangers<\/a> at Scotiabank Arena. The Leafs look to keep on rolling after their win Thursday.<\/p>\n
