Berglund will most likely look to find a team that he will enjoy playing for. Last season Berglund played in only 57 games but still managed to pick up 17 goals along with eight assists. He netted a career-high 23 goals in 82 games in the 2016-17 season. He will bring scoring as well as a big body to a team’s bottom six and will look to center either a third or fourth line. Over the past two seasons, Berglund has been around 55-58 percent on draws which could be a key factor for a team looking to sign him.

Berglund agreed to the contract termination. This is a bit surprising, as, given the way things went in Buffalo, it is unlikely that he will be able to recoup the money he is leaving on the table with this move.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

The Buffalo Sabres have placed centre Patrik Berglund on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.
