He was caught in the middle of a collision with Anaheim defenceman <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/mahurjo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joshua Mahura<\/a> <\/strong>and New Jersey forward <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=hallta02,hallta01&amp;search=Taylor+Hall&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taylor Hall<\/a><\/strong>. Miller sprained his MCL and will be reevaluated in two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The East Lansing, Mich. native is 4-2-1 in 10 game this season. He has posted a 2.71 goals-against-average with a .922 save percentage.<\/p>\n<p>Miller has played for the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/sabres\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Buffalo Sabres<\/a>, St. Louis Blues, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/canucks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vancouver Canucks<\/a> and Anaheim Ducks in his 16-year NHL career. He has 374 wins, 270 losses and 81 overtime losses\/ties in 747 games. The 38-year-old has a career GAA of 2.60 and .915 save percentage. Buffalo originally drafted Miller in the fifth round, 138th overall of the 1999 NHL draft.<\/p>\n<h1>Ducks Claim <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/j\/johnsch02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chad Johnson<\/a><\/h1>\n<p>Anaheim <a href=\"https:\/\/buffalonews.com\/2018\/12\/11\/ryan-miller-out-six-weeks-wont-come-to-town-with-ducks\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">signed Johnson to quickly<\/a> fill the void. Johnson is 2-6 in 10 games this season with a 3.55 GAA and ,884 save percentage. He does have a shutout this season.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson has played for the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/rangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Rangers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/coyotes\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Arizona Coyotes,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/bruins\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boston Bruins<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/flames\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Calgary Flames<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/islanders\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Islanders,<\/a> Buffalo Sabres and St. Louis Blues in his nine-year NHL career. He has 80 wins, 67 losses and 15 ties\/overtime losses in 183 career games. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/penguins\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> originally drafted him in the fifth round, 125th overall of the 2006 NHL draft.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/AnaheimDucks\/status\/1072541043277684736<\/p>\n<h2>What This Means for the Future<\/h2>\n<p>The Ducks will have to rely on<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=gibsojo02,gibsojo01&amp;search=John+Gibson&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Gibson<\/a><\/strong> more until Miller returns. Gibson and Miller were a great 1-2 punch for Anaheim that has them tied for second in the Pacific Division with the San Jose Sharks.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson has struggled this season, but the change of scenery may help him out.
