Crawford missed Saturday night&#8217;s game with acute appendicitis.<\/p>\n<h2>Corey Crawford Injury Update: Out 2-3 Weeks<\/h2>\n<p>According to team reports on Saturday, Crawford became\u00a0ill with acute appendicitis. Crawford&#8217;s absence can end up having quite the impact on the Blackhawks.<\/p>\n<p>Backup goaltender <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/darlisc01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Scott Darling<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is expected to make most of the team&#8217;s upcoming starts in Crawford&#8217;s absence. Darling currently holds a 4-1-1 record with a 2.81 GAA and .907 save percentage this season.<\/p>\n<p>The team also had to resort to signing an amateur goaltender for Saturday night&#8217;s game. The <strong>Rockford IceHogs,<\/strong> the Blackhawks <strong>AHL<\/strong>\u00a0affiliate, had a game in <strong>Grand Rapids, Michigan<\/strong>, making it impossible for a backup to travel\u00a0in time for the game.
