The suspension was later reduced by a third-party arbitrator to 14 games, but Wilson had already sat out the first 16 games of the year by the time that ruling came down. Now Wilson will likely face another hearing with the DOPS and the possibility of another long suspension. Wilson has picked up three NHL suspensions in the last 14 months.

Wilson has put up six goals and six assists for 12 points in the eight games he has played this season. He also has a 47.3 percent Corsi-For and +2.6 relative Corsi.

Wilson has spent his entire six-season NHL career with the Capitals. He has scored 41 goals and 75 assists for 116 points in 399 career games. He has also picked up 817 career penalty minutes. Wilson has added eight goals and 20 points in 62 career Stanley Cup Playoff games. This includes five goals and 15 points in 21 games last year, helping the Capitals to the Championship.

Wilson has turned himself into an effective forward when on the ice and often plays with Capitals stars Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov on the team’s first line.
