The Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> continue to clean house as they have fired assistant GM Chris Pryor<\/a> and assistant coach Gord Murphy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Flyers Fire Assistant GM Chris Pryor<\/h1>\n

The Philadelphia Flyers have parted ways with assistant General Manager Chris Pryor.\u00a0This season, the team has a record of 10 wins,12 losses, and two overtime losses and sit in last place in the Metropolitan Division.<\/p>\n

What This Means for the Future<\/h2>\n

These firings come a day after the Flyers fired GM Ron Hextall<\/a>. Pryor has been a part of the organization for the past 20 years working as the Director of Player Scouting before being named the assistant GM and Director of Player Personnel in August of 2016. He had a big hand in helping the Flyers at the Draft over the past few seasons. The Flyers deepest run with Pryor part of the Organization was in 2010 when they lost to the Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> in six games.<\/p>\n

Murphy was hired as in assistant coach in 2014 to help the Flyers improve defensively. He was in charge of the Flyers defensive core under Craig Berube<\/a> and Dave Hakstol. The Flyers have given up 84 goals this season which is fourth worst in the NHL. Murphy had previously been an assistant with the Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a> from 2002-2010 and was along with Ken Hitchcock in 2010.<\/p>\n

The Flyers biggest issue is their goaltending and Flyers President said that he personally will seek to fix that problem. So far this season the Flyers netminders have a combined .887 sv% while allowing 86 goals on 704 shots this season.<\/p>\n

The Flyers don’t plan on making other any moves in the near future but are still searching for a new GM.<\/p>\n

The Flyers also placed goaltender\u00a0Calvin Pickard<\/a><\/strong> on waivers this morning.<\/p>\n
