Hockey Hall of Famer and nine-time Stanley Cup champion <\/span>Larry Robinson<\/a><\/b> will join interim head coach <\/span>Craig Berube<\/a> <\/b>behind the bench.<\/span><\/p>\n

Blues Add Larry Robinson To Berube’s Staff<\/h1>\n

St. Louis Blues<\/a> general manager <\/span>Doug Armstrong<\/b> announced Tuesday that Robinson will serve as a part of interim coach Berube’s staff for at least the next few weeks. Berube took over the head coaching duties Monday when <\/span>Mike Yeo<\/b> was fired by the team.<\/span><\/p>\n

Robinson has been working as Senior Consultant to Hockey Operations for the Blues. <\/span>
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Playing career<\/h2>\n

Robinson, 66, spent the vast majority of his 20-year career with the Montreal Canadiens<\/a>, winning six Cups with the team. <\/span><\/p>\n

The defenceman played in 1384 career games with the Canadiens and Los Angeles Kings<\/a>, scoring 208 goals and adding 750 assists for 958 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

Post playing career<\/h2>\n

After his playing days, Robinson held coaching and management positions with the New Jersey Devils<\/a>, Kings, and San Jose Sharks<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

He won three more Stanley Cup in 1995, 2000 and 2003 as part of the Devils organization.<\/span><\/p>\n

Analysis<\/h2>\n

Robinson knows a thing or two about winning. When Armstrong hired him, the belief was he could fill multiple roles. He started out as an advisor, but Robinson had said he would be willing to go behind the bench if need be. The belief is he will have a lot of responsibilities behind the bench. <\/span><\/p>\n

It has yet to be seen if it\u2019ll help the team win. Nevertheless, it seemed like a change was coming in St. Louis. The Blues have a lot of talent on their roster including <\/span>Vladimir Tarasenko<\/a><\/b>, <\/span>Jake Allen<\/a><\/b>, <\/span>Ryan O’Reilly<\/a><\/b>, <\/span>Colton Parayko<\/a><\/b>, <\/span>Alex Pietrangelo<\/a><\/b>,<\/span> Tyler Bozak<\/a><\/b>, and <\/span>Jaden Schwartz<\/a><\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n

A team with talent like this on their roster should be worrying about the playoffs, not the firing of coaches. Things have to improve or more serious changes can and will happen. It\u2019s time for the Blues to wake up.<\/span><\/p>\n
