Oshie possessed the puck in the Jets zone. He was smashed into the boards by Morrissey as he went to the corner. Morrissey proceeded to rip Oshie down by the shoulder, causing him to land hard onto the back of his head and neck. The veteran player was visibly shaken up but slowly got back on his feet. He was unable to contribute much to the continuing play despite remaining on the ice after the hit. Winnipeg ultimately won the contest 3-1. The Department of Player Safety has fined Morrissey for the hit.

Washington Hit Hard With Injuries

The Capitals are currently dealing with a string of injuries.
