It was announced today that defenceman <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/f\/fowleca01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cam Fowler<\/a><\/strong> is out indefinitely with multiple fractures in his face. The injury happened Monday night in a 2-1 shootout win against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/nhl-teams\/predators\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nashville Predators<\/a>. Where he took a puck to the face.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, being unable to avoid it. He has &#8220;complex right facial fracture involving the orbital bone, cheekbone and upper jaw bone&#8221; according to the team&#8217;s Twitter account. He will have surgery this week and his return date is unknown.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Injury Update:<\/p>\n<p>Cam Fowler was struck in the face with a puck on Monday night. A CT scan revealed a complex right facial fracture involving the orbital bone, cheekbone and upper jaw bone. They currently have 7 players on injured or long-term injured reserve. They have seen many key players miss games this season including <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/getzlry01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Getzlaf<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/kaseon01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ondrej Kase<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/keslery01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Kesler<\/a><\/strong> among others.<\/p>\n<p>Anaheim will miss Fowler on the blueline. He rounds out one of the leagues most underrated top four of Cam Fowler, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/lindhha01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hampus Lindholm<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/mansojo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Manson<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/montobr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brandon Montour<\/a><\/strong>. Cam Fowler has 3 goals and 7 assists for 10 points in 19 games played this season. He also has spent his entire 580 game career with the Ducks and has 56 goals, 203 assists for 259 career points. He also has 155 penalty minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, as a result\u00a0of the injuries, the Anaheim Ducks currently sit 5th in the Pacific with 19 points. However, they have played more games than anyone in the division. It has been a rough start to the year. Anaheim&#8217;s shot metrics are at the bottom of the league.
