This contract carries him through the 2024-25\u00a0season. He has put up 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 career points in 118 career NHL games. He was originally drafted in the 1st round, 16th overall of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>Last season he scored four goals and 10 assists for 14\u00a0points. He also added 16 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 47.6 percent Corsi-For and a relative Corsi of -1.3.<\/p>\n<p>Signing this six-year deal will take Chychrun to 2025 where he will become an unrestricted free agent.<\/p>\n<p>Coyotes general manager <strong>John Chayka<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/hockey\/nhl\/coyotes-sign-jakob-chychrun-6-year-extension\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said with the signing<\/a> that they are confident in his abilities\u00a0despite his history with injuries. &#8220;He has battled through some adversity with injuries the last two years, but we remain confident that he has the necessary size, talent and work ethic to be one of our core players for many years to come.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>What This Means for the Future<\/h2>\n<p>The Coyotes lock up a piece of their defence core that they hope will continue to improve and to develop into a top defenseman. Chychrun has battled through injuries limiting him to just 118 games in his career.
