Bratt was injured when a puck came off the crossbar and hit him in the face during yesterday&#8217;s\u00a0practice.<\/p>\n<p>Last, he scored 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points in 74 games. He also added 18 minutes in penalties. Bratt&#8217;s strong rookie season helped the Devils to be one of the most surprising teams in the league and qualify for the playoffs. His possession numbers were 46.6 percent Corsi-for and a relative Corsi of -2.1. Bratt only played one game in the Devils first-round Stanley Cup Playoff loss to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/lightning\/\" target=\"_self\">Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The 20-year-old Swedish forward was originally drafted in the sixth-round, 162nd overall at the 2016 NHL Entry draft by the Devils.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">John Hynes on Jesper Bratt: &#8220;He has a fracture, and no surgery is needed so that&#8217;s good news. It may be too much to ask of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=hallta02,hallta01&amp;search=Taylor+Hall&amp;utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taylor Hall<\/a><\/strong> to put together a repeat of his Hart Trophy season. Bratt was a young forward the team was counting on to continue his progression and increase his point totals.
