The jersey only survived two full seasons with Reebok and was not continued with Adidas for the first year of the company taking over. The Avs will wear this jersey for select games against division rivals this year.

The jersey is inspired by the team that shared their location from 1976-1982. It features a triangle logo with a snowcap on top, mimicking the Rocky Mountains. Colorado also introduced a “C” logo with a circle within the letter. The design of the letter pays homage to the Colorado state flag.

The sweater’s navy main color takes up most of the space on the jerseys, but its white shoulders and red cuffs incorporate the team’s color scheme (although not the same shade of blue) while offering a new look.

The Avs wear matching pants with the alternate uniform, as they wear black for home and away games, although not in their color scheme.

The state flag sits on the left sleeve, similar to the design the Carolina Hurricanes have shown for their alternate jersey – although, the Avs technically did it first.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Dearest 5th Line —
They have returned. The jersey was first introduced in 2010 following the team’s first playoff appearance. Their time in the post-season prior to the jersey was short, losing 4-0 to the Detroit Red Wings.

The jersey remains navy, like their home jerseys, but uses a baby blue to accent it instead of red. The jersey is well liked amongst the hockey community because of its simplicity and design.

The logo features the team name on a banner that circles around a cannon – a symbol iconic to the franchise. The Blue Jackets first debuted the cannon in 2007 and fire it off when the home team scores a goal. They have even incorporated the cannon into their goal song, AC/DC’s “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)”.

Inside the collar reads “We Fight. We March!”. The saying refers to the team’s motto that was used entering their first playoff series in the 2008-09 season. The Blue Jackets will wear the jerseys for 12 games this season, starting on Oct. 18.

Winnipeg Jets

https://twitter.com/jetsarmy/status/1041021557865209857

The Winnipeg Jets have released their first-ever third jersey since the franchise relocated from Atlanta. And although a team has existed in the city before (and produced an iconic jersey), team decided to introduce a brand new uniform to the NHL.

Nicknamed the “Aviator”, the jersey makes light blue the main color for this one, steering away from the navy and white jerseys that the team has used since 2011.

The crest is a simple script that reads “Jets” that is unlike the script logo the team displayed in the uniform unveiling in 2011. The team is not using any shoulder patches on their sweater.

Inside the collar reads, “We are True North”. The saying refers to two things. First, to Canada, as in their national anthem, the lyric is, “The True North strong and free.” Second, it refers to True North Sports and Entertainment – the company that owns Bell MTS Place, the Jets and their AHL affiliate Manitoba Moose.

Main Image Credit:

Embed from Getty Images

Eight teams have already announced alternate jerseys, inspired by both old and new looks that will be worn in the upcoming seasons.
