In those four years, the Canucks have gone 140-150-38. His first job was hiring Jim Benning to replace Mike Gillis as General Manager after the 2013-14 season. They have missed the playoffs in the last three seasons. In Linden first year as President, the Canucks lost to the Calgary Flames in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

During his 19 year NHL playing career Linden played for the New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks, Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals. Linden played in 1,382 career games during his career (1,140 with Van). He scored 375 career goals along with 492 assists for 867 career points. He was originally drafted second overall by the Canucks in the 1998 NHL Draft. Linden won the King Clancy trophy during the 1996-97 season.

What This Means for the Canucks Moving Forward

Jim Benning has spent the last four years as GM of the team after Linden brought him in to replace Mike Gilles. The Canucks will be looking to rebuild after losing both of the Sedin Brothers to retirement.
