According to Andrew Collins, his body was identified as the victim in an early morning drowning at the Hamilton Harbour.<\/p>\n<p>He was said to have gone for a swim with several friends and never re-surfaced. Emery was seen playing in a charity game last night with <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/\/nhl-teams\/predators\/\" target=\"_self\">Nashville Predators<\/a> center <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/rinalza01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zac Rinaldo<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Friends and first responders have identified victim in early morning drowning at the Hamilton Harbour as former <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NHL?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@NHL<\/a> goalie Ray Emery. During his career, he went 145-86-28 with a career 2.70 GAA and.906 SV percentage in 287 games. He also racked up 16 career shutouts.\u00a0Emery won a Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Emery&#8217;s best year was during the 2013-14 season when he went 17-1 with a 1.94 GAA and .922 GAA. He won the William M. Jennings Trophy that year as well. In 39 Stanley Cup Playoff games, Emery went 21-17 with a 2.64 GAA and .902 SV% He was originally drafted in the fourth round, 99th overall in the 2001 NHL Draft by the Senators. Emery last played in the NHL during the 2014-15 season.<\/p>\n<p>During his career, Emery was known to be a goaltender who loved to fight. He was used mostly in a backup role throughout his career.\u00a0 He fought three times in his career, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/chiodan01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andy Chiodo<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in 2007, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bironma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Martin Biron<\/a><\/strong> in 2009, and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/holtbbr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Braden Holtby<\/a><\/strong> in 2013.\u00a0During the 2015-2016 season, Emery&#8217;s career moved overseas when he went to play for the Mannheim Eagles of the DEL.
