He has scored 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 career points in 180 career games. Shaw has also played 12 career Stanley Cup Playoff games but is yet to record a post-season point. He was originally drafted in the third round, 76th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Panthers.

Last season, he scored four goals and 10 assists for 14 points in 72 games. He also added 12 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 46.1 percent Corsi with a relative Corsi of -2.7 percent. Shaw is coming off a one year, $650,000 contract that he signed with the Ducks in March 2017. He was claimed on waivers by the Canadiens in January.

What This Mean’s for Shaws Future

After being claimed on waivers from the Ducks in January, Shaw had two goals and four assists in 30 games with the Habs. Shaw was able to double his hit total from the 2016-17 season racking up 110 hits this season. A journeyman NHLer, expect Shaw to be a fourth liner next year at best. His physicality will certainly be an asset for his new team’s fourth line next year. Shaw has the versatility to play both at centre and on the wing. This will help him to earn playing time and be a valued piece on the roster.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

MONTREAL, QC – APRIL 01: Look on Montreal Canadiens Right Wing Logan Shaw (49) during the New Jersey Devils versus the Montreal Canadiens game on April 1, 2018, at Bell Centre in Montreal, QC (Photo by David Kirouac/Icon Sportswire)

The Calgary Flames have signed forward Logan Shaw to a Professional Try-Out deal and invited him to training camp.
