He has scored 97 goals and 75 assists for 172 career points in 330 career NHL games. Zucker has added four goals and four assists for eight points in 31 career Stanley Cup Playoff games. He was originally drafted in the second round, 59th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild.

Last season, he had a career year. Zucker scored 33 goals and 31 assists for 64 points in 82 games. He also added 44 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 50.1 percent Corsi For with a relative Corsi of +4.3. However, Zucker was held scoreless in the Wild’s five-game first round playoff loss to the Winnipeg Jets. He is coming off of a two-year, $4 million dollar contract with an AAV of $2 million per season that he signed with the Wild in June 2016.

What This Means for the Future

Zucker was second in goals and third in points this year for the Wild despite only getting about 17 minutes of ice time per game. This was good enough for the third most power-play goals on the team. At only 26-years-old, Zucker’s future looks bright for both him and the Wild going forward. At even strength, Zucker spent most of the season playing on the top line with Staal and Charlie Coyle.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

The Minnesota Wild have re-signed winger Jason Zucker to a five-year deal worth $27.5 million or $5.5 million per season AAV.
