The Golden Knights now take lead a two-games-to-one lead in the series.<\/p>\n<h1>Vegas Gets Off to a Fast Start<\/h1>\n<p>The Vegas Golden Knights got off to a fast game in their first ever home Western Conference\u00a0Final game.<strong> <a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/a\/audymjo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" onclick=\"sr_record_analytics_event(&#039;newsfeed_click&#039;,&#039;&#039;, sr_record_directory(),&#039;sr_tracker&#039;);\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jon  Marchessault<\/a><\/strong> scored just 35 seconds into the game to give the Golden Knights an early 1-0 start. Vegas only allowed Winnipeg to get three shots in the first period.<\/p>\n<h1>Winnipeg Ties it Up but not For Long<\/h1>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/scheima01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mark Scheifele<\/a><\/strong> tied up the game at 5:28 mark of the second mark which looked to be a sign of light for the Winnipeg Jets. However, it was just 12 seconds later that <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/n\/nealja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">James Neal<\/a><\/strong>, who missed part of the first period after blocking a shot, ended up scoring the go-ahead goal. The goal came after Jets goalie <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/helleco01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" onclick=\"sr_record_analytics_event(&#039;newsfeed_click&#039;,&#039;&#039;, sr_record_directory(),&#039;sr_tracker&#039;);\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Connor  Hellebuyck<\/a><\/strong> mishandled the puck behind his own net.<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/t\/tuchal01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alex Tuch<\/a><\/strong> added another goal to give the Golden Knights a three-one lead heading into the third.<\/p>\n<h1>Winnipeg Keeps It Close<\/h1>\n<p>Early in the third <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/scheima01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mark Scheifele<\/a><\/strong> scored to cut the Jets deficit to one. With the goal, Scheifele broke the record for most goals on the road with 11 during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This broke <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/\/nhl-teams\/penguins\/\" target=\"_self\">Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/crosbsi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" onclick=\"sr_record_analytics_event(&#039;newsfeed_click&#039;,&#039;&#039;, sr_record_directory(),&#039;sr_tracker&#039;);\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sidney  Crosby<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0who held the\u00a0previous record of 10.<\/p>\n<h1>Fleury Comes Up Big in The Third<\/h1>\n<p>Eight minutes into the third Winnipeg threatened to tie the game as <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/myersty01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tyler Myers<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0had a breakaway. He is stopped by<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/f\/fleurma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marc-Andre Fleury<\/a><\/strong>. He also made another unbelievable save at the 10-minute\u00a0mark to secure the Golden Knights lead. He made 15 saves in the third and 33 in the game. The Jets were pressing for the tie, but could not beat Fleury. Marchessault added an empty net goal with three seconds left.<\/p>\n<h1>Game Recap<\/h1>\n<p>Both teams had <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/\/2018\/05\/16\/winnipeg-jets-nikolaj-ehlers-vegas-golden-knights-david-perron-miss-game-3\/\" target=\"_self\">injuries coming into the game<\/a>. The Jets were missing <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/e\/ehlerni01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nikolaj Ehlers<\/a><\/strong> and Vegas was missing <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/perroda01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">David Perron<\/a><\/strong>. Vegas controlled the first period and most of the second after responding to the Jets goal in the second.
