The New Jersey Devils<\/a> have announced\u00a0that forwards Taylor Hall<\/a><\/strong> and Patrick Maroon<\/a><\/strong> along with goaltender Cory Schneider<\/a><\/strong> all have surgery. Hall and Maroon are expected to be ready for camp in September. Schneider’s timeline is estimated at five months and is doubtful to be ready in time for camp.<\/p>\n

Taylor Hall<\/a><\/h1>\n

Hall had surgery to repair torn ligaments in his hand repaired on April 30th, but he suffered the injury in late December. He had an all-star year for the Devils scoring 39 and 54 assists for 93 points. He also added 34 minutes in penalties. His percentage numbers were 51.7 percent Corsi with a relative Corsi of +5.0.<\/p>\n

Over his eight-year\u00a0career Hall has played for the Edmonton Oilers<\/a> and New Jersey Devils. He has 191 goals and 283 assists for 474 career points in 529 games. He was originally drafted first overall in the 2010\u00a0NHL Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.<\/p>\n

Patrick Maroon<\/a><\/h1>\n

Patrick Maroon had surgery on May 2nd to repair a herniated\u00a0disk in his back. He was brought in to give the Devils a boost in the playoffs but only had a goal in five games in their Stanley Cup Playoff series loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This season he had 17 goals and 26 assists for 43 points. He also added 73 minutes\u00a0in penalties. His possession numbers were 53.3 percent Corsi with a relative Corsi of +3.4.<\/p>\n

Over his 7 year NHL career, Maroon has played for the Anaheim\u00a0Ducks<\/a>, New Jersey Devils, and Edmonton Oilers. He has 78 goals and 100 assists for 178 career points in 375 games. He was originally\u00a0drafted in the sixth round, 161 overall in the 2007 NHL Draft by the Philadephia Flyers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cory Schneider<\/a><\/h1>\n

Cory Schneider struggled with a groin injury on January 23rd which caused him to miss five-plus weeks but came back in March but failed to record a win a game the rest of the regular season. He did come in relief of Keith Kinkaid<\/strong> in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoff Series against the Tampa Bay Lightning. This year he went 17-16-1 with a 2.93 goals against average and .907 save percentage. He had one shutout.<\/p>\n

Over his 10-year career, Schneider has played for the Vancouver\u00a0Canucks<\/a> and New Jersey Devils. He is 161-140-52 with a career 2.36 goals against average and .920 save percentage. Schneider\u00a0also has 24 career shutouts.<\/p>\n

He was originally\u00a0drafted in the first round, 24th overall by the Vancouver\u00a0Canucks in the 2004\u00a0NHL Entry Draft.<\/p>\n

What This Means For the Future<\/h1>\n

The biggest news that comes out of this is the fact the Schneider\u00a0may not be ready for camp in September. Losing Schneider would be a huge loss for the Devils but they do have Keith Kinkaid<\/a><\/strong> who played solid down the stretch to get them into the playoffs. The good news is Hall will be ready for camp. Maroon is a pending unrestricted free agent and it is unclear if the Devils plan on making him an offer.<\/p>\n
