{"id":2755,"date":"2016-10-25T16:06:11","date_gmt":"2016-10-25T20:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/?p=2755"},"modified":"2016-10-25T16:06:11","modified_gmt":"2016-10-25T20:06:11","slug":"bruins-start-malcolm-subban-net-amidst-injuries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2016\/10\/25\/bruins-start-malcolm-subban-net-amidst-injuries\/","title":{"rendered":"Bruins to Start Malcolm Subban in Net Amidst Injuries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Five games into the 2016-2017 <strong>National Hockey League<\/strong> season, the <strong>Boston Bruins<\/strong> are already without both their number one and number two goaltenders. \u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/rasktu01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tuukka Rask<\/a> <\/strong>suffered what has been rumored to be a groin injury\/hamstring pull and has not practiced or played since Thursday, October 20th. \u00a0The timeline for Rask&#8217;s return is considered &#8220;day-to-day&#8221; and no official diagnosis has been given. \u00a0Backup goaltender <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/khudoan01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anton Khudobin<\/a><\/strong> participated in the Bruins practice on Monday, but for only about five minutes, where he then left the ice nursing his hand\/lower arm. Today, Tuesday, it was revealed that Khudobin suffered what would be labeled as an &#8220;upper-body&#8221; injury and that he would be sidelined for at least three weeks.<\/p>\n<h3>Bruins to Start Malcolm Subban in Net Amidst Injuries<\/h3>\n<p>With the Bruins playing the<strong> Minnesota Wild<\/strong>\u00a0Tuesday night and then traveling to <strong>Manhattan<\/strong> to face the <strong>New York Rangers<\/strong> on Wednesday, both <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/subbama01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Malcolm Subban<\/a><\/strong> and <strong>Zane McIntyre<\/strong> have been called up from the <strong>American Hockey League<\/strong>&#8216;s and Boston Bruins minor league team, the <strong>Providence Bruins<\/strong>. \u00a0Subban, who has been apart of the Bruins organization for four years now (Drafted first round in 2012), has had a rocky start to the AHL season, posting an 0-3-1 record with a .856 save percentage, and a goals average against of 4.50.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If we have to make adjustments and have some new personnel, we&#8217;ll deal with it. \u00a0If he&#8217;s going in goal, he&#8217;ll go in goal, it&#8217;s simple as that,&#8221; Bruins head coach <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/j\/juliecl01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Claude Julien<\/a><\/strong> had to say regarding the current goaltending situation and in Malcolm Subban&#8217;s call up.
