Captain <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/stamkst01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" onclick=\"sr_record_analytics_event(&#039;newsfeed_click&#039;,&#039;&#039;, sr_record_directory(),&#039;sr_tracker&#039;);\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Steven  Stamkos<\/a><\/strong>, who missed the last three games of the regular season with a lower-body injury, is good to go. The Lightning open up their 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs at home to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/devils\/\" target=\"_self\">New Jersey Devils<\/a>. Cooper made the announcement in a media scrum following the team&#8217;s morning skate.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Steven  Stamkos will play for the Lightning in Game 1 vs. the Devils. In the regular season, he scored 27 goals and 59 assists for 86 points in 78 games. He also added a hard-hitting\u00a072 minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 53.2 percent Corsi\u00a0and a relative Corsi of +2.1.<\/p>\n<p>Over his decade-long NHL career, Stamkos has put up 348 goals and 320 assists for 668 career points in 664 career games. He was originally drafted by the Lightning in the first round, first overall of the 2008 NHL draft.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, having their top centre back for the playoffs is huge for the Lightning. Most analysts have made Tampa the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2018\/04\/11\/new-jersey-devils-vs-tampa-bay-lightning-first-round-series-preview\/\" target=\"_self\">favourite in the series with the Devils<\/a>, but anything can happen in the playoffs. Stamkos will be expected to pair with <strong><a  target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/kucheni01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&#038;utm_source=direct&#038;utm_medium=linker-\" onclick=\"sr_record_analytics_event(&#039;newsfeed_click&#039;,&#039;&#039;, sr_record_directory(),&#039;sr_tracker&#039;);\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nikita  Kucherov<\/a><\/strong>.
