Laine ripped home a wrist shot on a <strong>Winnipeg Jets<\/strong> power play, helping the team to four straight goals in the third period and overtime to defeat the <strong>Carolina Hurricanes<\/strong> 5-4. Laine also added an assist. Newcomer\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/matthsh01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shawn Matthias<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/perrema01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mathieu Perreault<\/a> <\/strong>also scored for the Jets, while new captain <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/w\/wheelbl01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blake Wheeler<\/a><\/strong> had a goal himself as well.<\/p>\n<p>After Matthias opened the scoring, the Hurricanes got goals from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/skinnje01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jeff Skinner<\/a>. Lee Stempniak, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/staaljo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jordan Staal<\/a> <\/strong>and<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/raskvi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Victor Rask<\/a> <\/strong>to take a 4-1 lead into the second intermission. It was not enough though, as the Jets mounted a furious comeback in front of their home crowd at the <strong>MTS Centre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Patrik Laine Shines, Bryan Little Injured in Winnipeg Jets Win Over Carolina Hurricanes<\/h2>\n<p>It was not all good news for the Jets though, as the team lost centre <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/littlbr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bryan Little<\/a><\/strong> with a lower body injury.\u00a0Little collided with Hurricanes forward <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bickebr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bryan Bickell<\/a><\/strong> in the Winnipeg zone with 9:17 left in the first period. Play was stopped and Little had to be helped from the ice. He did not return to the game.<\/p>\n<p>The team did not give a lot of details about Little&#8217;s injury, however, head coach Paul Maurice did state that Little would be out indefinitely. \u00a0It looks like the Jets will need to find another scoring centre.
