The Canucks acquire left wing Josh Leivo in exchange for Michael Carcone<\/p>\n<h2>Key Players<\/h2>\n<h3>Josh Leivo<\/h3>\n<p>In Leivo, the Canucks get an offensively gifted winger that can also play the power play. With a big body at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Leivo can be a large net-front presence. This year he has four goals and six points in 24 games. His possession numbers are 50.7 percent Corsi-For and a +1.9 relative Corsi.<\/p>\n<p>Last season, Leivo struggled to get ice time, playing in just 16 NHL games. He scored one goal and three assists for four points.\u00a0The depth on the Leafs wing made it nearly impossible for Leivo to get into the lineup\u00a0during the 2017-18 season.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016-17, he scored two goals and eight assists for 10 points in just 13 NHL games. He also added four minutes in penalties. His possession numbers were 55.3 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of +2.9.\u00a0Despite only dressing for 13 games, Leivo produced 10 points, leading the team in Pts\/60, with a significant gap between him and second on the team, <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/matthau01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Auston Matthews<\/a><\/b>. Stepping in very rarely, Leivo made the most of his time when he played, mostly playing on the Leafs fourth line with.<\/p>\n<p>Over six partial seasons in his NHL career, Leivo has played exclusively for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has put up 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 career points in 84 career games. Leivo has not seen the ice for the Leafs in the playoffs. He was originally drafted in the 3rd round, 86th overall of the 2011 NHL draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs.<\/p>\n<h3>Michael Carcone<\/h3>\n<p>In 2016, the Vancouver Canucks signed Carcone as an undrafted free agent out of the QMJHL&#8217;s Drummondville Voltigeurs.\u00a0 Now in his third AHL season, he has put up six goals and 17 points in 20 games. This is a big jump in points per game from last season when Carcone had 15 goals and 27 points in 68 games.
