Max Domi was drafted 12th overall by the Arizona (then Phoenix) Coyotes in the 2013 NHL Draft. Domi played four seasons for the London Knights of the OHL. Domi had 331 points in 244 career OHL games. Domi’s rookie season in the NHL was in 2015-16, which was also his best season so far, as Domi had 52 points in 81 games.

Injuries cut short Domi’s second season and he finished with nine goals and 38 points in 59 games. His third season was his worst to date. Domi scored nine goals and 45 points in 82 games. He was disappointing in the first half of the season but saw his production pick up down the stretch. Domi, like many of the Coyotes, finished the season strong, giving the club hope for the future. Overall, Domi has 135 points in 222 career NHL games. The Coyotes have yet to make the playoffs with Domi.

Judging by the number of points he had in the OHL and how high he was drafted, Domi has the potential and talent to be a successful high-scoring forward in the NHL. If Domi is able to rediscover the magic of his rookie season and is put with some more talented linemates, his point totals could explode. Domi has the skills and the talent to be a top-six forward and a real asset to most NHL teams. The Canadiens hope that his continued improvement comes in la Belle Province.

Main Photo: SAN JOSE, CA – NOVEMBER 29: Max Domi #16 of the Arizona Coyotes skates against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center on November 29, 2016, in San Jose, California.
