A report from Winnipeg Sun reporter Ken Wyman indicates that defenceman <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/t\/troubja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jacob Trouba<\/a><\/strong> injured his ankle and could be gone for six-to-eight weeks. The Jets lost the game 4-3 in a shootout.<\/p>\n<p>Trouba, 23, has emerged as a top pairing defenceman for the Jets this season. He is playing over 22 minutes a game this year, including a season-high 27:05 against the Ducks on Thursday. Trouba played 25:41 in Tuesday&#8217;s victory over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/sharks\/\" target=\"_self\">San Jose Sharks<\/a>. He has three goals and 17 assists for 20 points in 50 games this year. Trouba also has a 50.4 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of +0.2, despite starting most of his shifts in his own end of the ice.<\/p>\n<p>In 321 career NHL games, Trouba has 34 goals, 91 assists and 125 career points. He has also added 237 penalty minutes. Trouba is in his fifth NHL season, all with the Jets. He was originally drafted by Winnipeg in the first round, 9th overall at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.<\/p>\n<p>It is expected that <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/byfugdu01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dustin Byfuglien<\/a><\/strong> will move back up to the Jets top pair with <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/morrijo04.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Morrissey<\/a><\/strong>, taking the shutdown match-up minutes that Trouba was playing.
