This foot injury originally\u00a0shut him on December 19th with no time frame to return.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Claude Julien says Shea Weber is &#8220;doubtful until after the All-Star Game&#8221; and that he is still in a walking boot.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \u0410rpon Basu (@ArponBasu) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ArponBasu\/status\/948624157134213120?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">January 3, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h1>Montreal Canadiens: Shea Weber Out Until After The All-Star Break<\/h1>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/lernobr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brett Lernout<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/j\/jerabja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jakub Jerabek<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>have seen time in Montreal but have yet to produce.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>In a combined seventeen games with the Habs, these two have yet to pick up a point this year. Jerabek has should good puck moving abilities but has not been given much powerplay time. 2015 first round draft pick <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2017\/08\/21\/tsp-montreal-canadiens-prospects\/\" target=\"_self\"><strong>Noah Juulsen<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has also missed time this season. Reports indicate that he is finding his game with the AHL Laval Rocket, and could be in the mix for a call-up should the Habs blueliners continue to struggle. He is more of a defensive defenceman though and unlikely to help the struggling powerplay.<\/p>\n<p>There is no question that the Habs need help on the blue line. Losing <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/markoan01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andrei Markov<\/a><\/strong> in the offseason was huge. Besides Weber, Habs defencemen in total have only picked up 11 points so far this year. The main issue is the Habs do not have a replacement for Weber on their roster. Yes, They did bring in <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/schleda01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">David Schlemko<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>who they hoped would fill the void when Markov left but Schlemko only has one point in thirteen games this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Habs will look for<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/petryje01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jeff Petry<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bennjo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jordie Benn<\/a><\/strong> to pick up a big chunk of minutes in Weber&#8217;s absence.
