Rieder, who played for <strong>Team Europe<\/strong> at the recent <strong>World Cup of Hockey<\/strong>\u00a0did not report to Coyotes training camp at the conclusion of the contract. His agent had indicated that he would not show up until a contract was agreed upon. \u00a0That stumbling block seems to be out of the way now. \u00a0The deal is expected to be worth $4.45 million, for a cap hit of $2.225 million per year. He also scored 13 goals and eight assists for 21 points as a rookie in 2014-15. Rieder was originally drafted by the <strong>Edmonton Oilers<\/strong> in the fourth round, 114th overall, at the <strong>2011 NHL Draft<\/strong>. \u00a0The Oilers traded him to the Coyotes at the trade deadline in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Capable of playing both wings, Rieder had a very good tournament for the surprise European Team.
