Price has been out of the Canadiens lineup since <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonhockey.com\/2017\/11\/14\/carey-price-al-montoya-antti-niemi\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">November 2nd with a lower-body injury<\/a> and missed the last 10 games. Prior to his injury, Price posted a 3-7-1 record with a 3.77 goals-against-average and an .877 save-percentage. The Canadiens hope to get Price back at his best to help turn around what has been a\u00a0disappointing\u00a0season.<\/p>\n<h2>Impact<\/h2>\n<p>The Canadiens are struggling both offensively and defensively this season. Embarrassing losses to Arizona (5-4) and Toronto (6-0) at the end of a six-game homestand, combined with a loss against Dallas and OTL in Nashville mean the Canadiens have now lost five in a row. They sit 14th in the Eastern Conference standings after their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sportingnews.com\/ca\/nhl\/news\/montreal-canadiens-report-card-disappointing-grades-reflect-play-quarter-mark-nhl-season-opinion-statistics-results\/afv70au5fukj1h3sjx87a719g\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">worst start since 1941<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">After last night&#39;s 3-2 shootout loss (not 2-1 as mistake in previous tweet had) to Predators the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Habs?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#Habs<\/a> rank dead-last of 31 NHL teams in offence, scoring an average of 2.30 goals per game. The team will feel more confident about pressing forward knowing Price can cover up for mistakes. While the Habs are not going to break any offensive records, having confidence\u00a0in your goaltender can allow offensive players a bit more freedom to be creative.<\/p>\n<h2>Making Room<\/h2>\n<p>Habs prospect <b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/lindgch01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Charlie Lindgren<\/a><\/b>\u00a0filled in admirably during Price&#8217;s absence. With a record\u00a0of 3-4-1, SV% of .924 and a GAA of 2.43, Lindgren has been the Habs best player on many\u00a0nights.\u00a0Lindgren has been reassigned to Laval to make room for Price. Newly acquired <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/n\/niemian02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Antti Niemi<\/a><\/strong> will serve as Price&#8217;s backup.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/montoal01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Al Montoya<\/a><\/strong> suffered a concussion in early\u00a0November.
