This game is the Penguins home opener and they will be raising their Stanley Cup banner. Former Blue and two time Stanley Cup Champion, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/coleia01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ian Cole<\/a><\/strong>, will play against his former club. Blues fan favorite, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/reavery01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Reaves<\/a><\/strong>, will be making his debut as a Penguin and play against his former club in the same night. He was traded to the Penguins during the off-season along with the 51<sup>st<\/sup> pick in the NHL Draft for <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/sundqos01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oskar Sundqvist<\/a><\/strong> and the 31<sup>st<\/sup> pick in the NHL Draft. Expect Reaves to lay a hit on at least one of his former teammates.<\/p>\n<h2>Saturday, October 7, 2017<\/h2>\n<p>The Blues will come home to face off with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/stars\/\" target=\"_self\">Dallas Stars<\/a> in the Blues home opener. Former Blue, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/crackad01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Adam Cracknell<\/a><\/strong>, will play against his former club. Cracknell spent parts of five seasons playing with the Blues. Former Blues draft pick and Missouri native, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bishobe01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ben Bishop<\/a><\/strong>, will return to his hometown. Former Blues head coach, <strong>Ken Hitchcock<\/strong>, returns to St. Louis for the first time since he was <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2017\/02\/01\/st-louis-blues-fire-ken-hitchcock-promote-mike-yeo\/\" target=\"_self\">fired in February<\/a>. Hitchcock coached the Blues for parts of six seasons. This is his second time coaching with the Stars. In 1998-99, he led the Stars to a Stanley Cup Championship.<\/p>\n<h2>Saturday, October 21, 2017<\/h2>\n<p>The Blues will face the expansion team, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/knights\/\" target=\"_self\">Vegas Golden Knights<\/a> for the first time in Blues franchise history. The Knights drafted some exciting players, including <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/n\/nealja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">James Neal<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/f\/fleurma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marc-Andre Fleury<\/a><\/strong>. Former Blue, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/perroda01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">David Perron<\/a><\/strong>, will battle against his former team. Perron spent seven non-consecutive seasons in St. Louis.<\/p>\n<h2>Friday, November 24, 2017<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/predators\/\" target=\"_self\">Nashville Predators<\/a> come to town for the first time since the 2017 Western Conference Semifinals. The Blues lost to the Predators in six games. The Predators advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals, but lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins in six games. The Blues will likely want revenge on the Predators for knocking them out of the playoffs. Expect a goaltending battle for the ages between <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/rinnepe01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pekka Rinne<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/a\/allenja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jake Allen<\/a><\/strong> and a very tight game.<\/p>\n<h2>Saturday, November 25, 2017<\/h2>\n<p>A day after Nashville comes to town, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/wild\/\" target=\"_self\">Minnesota Wild<\/a> come to town for a rematch of the 2017 Western Conference Quarterfinals. The Blues beat the Wild in an exciting five game series. The Blues only made it to the next round before getting eliminated. The Wild will likely want revenge on the Blues for knocking them out of the playoffs. Former Blue, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/stewach02.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chris Stewart<\/a><\/strong> will visit his former club. Stewart spent four seasons in St. Louis as a power forward. Blues head coach, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/coaches\/yeomi99c.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mike Yeo<\/a>, will coach against his former club. Yeo spent five seasons coaching in Minnesota.<\/p>\n<h2>Saturday, March 17, 2018<\/h2>\n<p>Original Six team, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/rangers\/\" target=\"_self\">New York Rangers<\/a> come to town. Former Blues defenseman, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/shattke01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kevin Shattenkirk<\/a><\/strong> will come back to St. Louis for the first time since being traded in February.\u00a0Shattenkirk was traded to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/capitals\/\" target=\"_self\">Washington Capitals<\/a> and played with them for the rest of the season before signing with his hometown team, the Rangers, in the off-season. Shattenkirk spent seven seasons with the Blues.<\/p>\n<h2>Wednesday, March 21, 2018<\/h2>\n<p>Another Original Six team, the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/nhl-teams\/bruins\/\" target=\"_self\">Boston Bruins<\/a> come to town. Former Blue, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/a\/agostke01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kenny Agostino<\/a><\/strong>, will come back to St. Louis for the first time since signing with the Bruins during the off-season. He spent one season with the Blues. Longtime captain, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/backeda01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">David Backes<\/a><\/strong>, will make his second return to St. Louis since signing with the Bruins in the 2016 off-season. He was drafted by the Blues and spent 10 seasons in St. Louis, including five seasons as the captain. Last season, his highly-anticipated return to St. Louis was emotional for him and the fans as the Blues honored him with a \u201cThank You\u201d video between whistles.<\/p>\n<h2>Monday, April 2, 2018<\/h2>\n<p>The Washington Capitals come to town. Former Blues, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/e\/ellerla01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lars Eller<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/chornta01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taylor Chorney<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/pelusan01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anthony Peluso<\/a><\/strong> will return to St. Louis. Oshie<\/a><\/strong>, will also return to St. Louis for the third time since being traded in the 2015 off-season for <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/brouwtr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Troy Brouwer<\/a>,<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/copleph01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pheonix Copley<\/a><\/strong> and a third round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft. He has always been welcomed back with open arms and his own tribute video between whistles.
