It was discovered two years ago he had a brain tumour. Since then he had been battling graciously the terrible disease. The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Salavat Yulayev Ufa clubs have been first class supporting and respecting Amirov and his family.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It is we great sadness that we announce the passing of Rodion Amirov. Two years ago, Rodion was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He acknowledged how upbeat Amirov had been since his diagnosis. It leaves the impression to the community that this can be looked at as an inspiration for others. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/toronto-maple-leafs-prospect-rodion-amirov-dies-at-age-21-1.1995891\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Maple Leaf community<\/a>, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/shanabr01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-08-14_hr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brendan Shanahan<\/a>, reiterated how devastated everyone is as a result of this loss. He is quoted as saying: \u201cOver the duration of his courageous battle, Rodion\u2019s positivity inspired everyone around him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kyle Dubas was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/nhl\/article\/former-maple-leafs-first-round-pick-rodion-amirov-passes-away-at-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">another important figure to comment on Amirov<\/a>. He spoke to \u201chis unabashed positivity \u2013 even when faced with an awful diagnosis \u2013 will stay with me forever.\u201d It seems he will leave a lasting, positive legacy upon those he touched in the hockey world. Perhaps, if even for a minute, he can help unite the hockey community around the globe, from the Ufa River to Scotiabank Arena.<\/p>\n<h3>What Can We All Learn<\/h3>\n<p>In times like these, it gives us all a chance to reflect. At one time, Amirov was an inspiring <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2021\/04\/15\/toronto-maple-leafs-sign-rodion-amirov-to-entry-level-deal\/\" target=\"_self\">Maple Leaf Prospect<\/a>, and then the terrible news. However, it is at these times when great leaders look inward, to show the path for those who will also walk it. You must always have a positive attitude, regardless of your role. Here\u2019s to a great inspiration, who fought a tough fight.
