Jamie Drysdale<\/a> has himself a new contract with the Anaheim Ducks. He is locked up for the next three years and has an AAV of $2.3 million. The nucleus of this core group is intact signaling what the future means for the club.<\/p>\n

Drysdale Signs Contract with Anaheim<\/h2>\n

The Jamie Drysdale contract is important for the club going forward. It signals that the future is bright and filled with youth. Pat Verbeek<\/a> has become a busy man locking up all his young promising talent. Restricted free agents Trevor Zegras<\/a> and Troy Terry<\/a> are back in the fold as well. As the new era of Anaheim Ducks<\/a> hockey is underway, the fountain of youth is plenty.<\/p>\n

Drysdale was the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NHL draft. He went right behind Ottawa Senators<\/a> defenceman Jake Sanderson<\/a>. It was a promising start for the young defenceman. However, health has never been on his side. Drysdale played just 24 games his first season followed by 81 the next. The 2021-22 campaign was his best by far<\/a>. Drysdale scored four goals, 28 assists, and 32 points. However, this season he played just eight games and had zero points. He has the tools to become a promising player and the belief in him is in the contract.<\/p>\n

What This Means for the Ducks<\/h3>\n

This is a new team and a new era of Anaheim Ducks hockey. As evidenced by the Jamie Drysdale contract, it is time for the youth to run the show. The team as a whole was one of the worst teams across the board, but having the talent and building blocks in place going forward does wonders for the franchise.<\/p>\n

Now that the contract is in place, Drysdale can build off the stronger season he had prior. Shake off the season that got plagued with an injury and be the player the franchise thinks he can be.<\/p>\n
