It’s time for another round of NHL rumours. We’re closing in on the end of the 2022-23 season and the rumours are going to ramp up. The 30 other teams that didn’t make the Stanley Cup Final are positioning themselves for the future. It was a good season for the Carolina Hurricanes<\/a>, but they wanted to get a little bit further in the post-season. Carolina has a good core and they want to keep it together. Today’s NHL rumours looks at a Brett Pesce<\/a> extension.<\/p>\n

Carolina Wants Brett Pesce Extension<\/h3>\n

Rumour: The Athletic’s Cory Lavalette looked into the Hurricanes off-season plans during the off-season roundup<\/a>. One of their biggest priorities was re-signing Pesce and fellow blueliner Brady Skjei<\/a>. Both players are going into the last year of their respective contracts<\/a>. Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell<\/a> doesn’t want to lose either for nothing in free agency. There’s always the idea of trading one of the defencemen if the two sides can’t come to a deal.<\/p>\n
