Welcome back to another day of NHL Predictions. Each day, Last Word on Hockey takes a look at the games that are happening and gives our predictions for each one, breaking down head-to-head and other factors that may play in. We also have a featured game of the day, which is considered must-watch TV. Today\u2019s featured game is between the Anaheim Ducks<\/a>\u00a0and the Dallas Stars<\/a>. NHL Predictions<\/span><\/h2>\n

Anaheim Ducks vs Dallas Stars<\/h3>\n

Head-to-Head: Ducks 1-1 Stars<\/h4>\n

Today’s featured game features two teams at opposite ends of the Western Conference standings. Both teams have gotten a shutout this season against the other team. John Gibson<\/a> is projected starter, but always check social media for confirmation. The Ducks do have wins in three straight and four of the last five. Anaheim currently isn’t the worst team in the league, but they’re still in the mix to land Connor Bedard. Trevor Zegras<\/a> and Troy Terry<\/a> are providing some hope for the future.<\/p>\n

Jake Oettinger<\/a> should get the start in the goal for the Stars. Dallas is coming into the game with three straight losses. The Stars have lost each of the last three games by a score of 3-2. Jason Robertson<\/a> is the team’s leading scorer with 33 goals while Joe Pavelski<\/a> is leading in assists with 34. The Stars are top 10 in goals for, goals against, power play and penalty killing.<\/p>\n

Dallas should take advantage of the break and get a chance to rest. The under of six sounds like a good play with both meetings before being shutouts.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Stars win 3-1.<\/em><\/p>\n

Minnesota Wild vs Arizona Coyotes<\/h3>\n

Head-to-Head: Wild 2-0 Coyotes<\/h4>\n

Our final game features the Minnesota Wild<\/a> versus the Arizona Coyotes<\/a>. Minnesota finished up the first half of the season<\/a> with a pair of 3-2 victories. Filip Gustavsson<\/a> is currently projected as the Wild’s starter in net. Minnesota is seventh in goals against and ninth at converting power play chances. <\/span>Kirill Kaprizov<\/a> leads the team in goals (27) and assists (32) proving that he’s the team’s engine on offence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Karel Vejmelka<\/a> is slated to be the starter in between the pipes for the Coyotes. Arizona has lost three of its last five games and struggle in a lot of the main categories. The Coyotes can put good games together, but they’re aiming to be better in the future<\/a>. This season may be a chance for the younger players to develop.<\/span><\/div>\n

Minnesota is trying to hold off the Colorado Avalanche<\/a> for the third playoff spot in the Central Division. A win here would accomplish that for the moment.<\/p>\n

Prediction: Wild win 4-2.<\/p>\n
