Teams have come calling in the past, but it appears that the team will hang onto him unless they are blown away by an offer. Despite the team undergoing a rebuild, he is not a bad piece to keep in the puzzle.

Why Montreal Could Stay Put

The Montreal Canadiens like the player they have. He is a prototypical power forward in this league and brings good things to the table. Anderson is on a good contract and he carries a cap hit of $5.5 million dollars per season. He is signed for the long haul as he is locked up until 2026-27.

Since arriving in Montreal, Anderson has been steadily producing. He is coming off his best year last season with the club and is on pace to finish with 23 goals this year, which is four shy of his career high. Unless blown away by an offer, it seems Montreal will stand pat.

Teams That Have Been Interested In Anderson

There have been teams over the years that have called for Josh Anderson’s services. As stated in the video, the Montreal Canadiens would love to keep Josh Anderson and unless persuaded otherwise, he will remain in red and blue. The Calgary Flames have been interested, and at one point so have the New Jersey Devils. Anything is possible at the deadline, but it appears he is staying where he is.

Main Photo:
Embed from Getty Images

The trade deadline is approaching, and teams are gauging what the plan is.
