A calibre eastern conference talent in the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/devils\/\" target=\"_self\">New Jersey Devils<\/a> takes on the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/kings\/\" target=\"_self\">Los Angeles Kings<\/a>. New Jersey enters the second of a back-to-back after playing the night before in Anaheim. The beautiful thing as well is they sit in the top ten in goals scored at even strength. Across the board it is an even matchup. One area to watch for in this game is special teams play. Los Angeles has the eighth-best power play unit, whereas New Jersey has the seventh-best penalty kill. The Edmonton Oilers head to the Sin City to take on the Vegas Golden Knights. Both teams are currently in playoff position and look to continue that pace. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This game features some of the brightest stars that are meant for the brightest lights. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/mcdavco01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-01-13_hr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Connor McDavid<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/draisle01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-01-13_hr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Leon Draisaitl<\/a> are two of the best in the business. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/e\/eicheja01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-01-13_hr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jack Eichel<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/stephch02.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-01-13_hr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chandler Stephenson<\/a> help spearhead a Golden Knights attack. But a big blow hit Vegas as captain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/stonema01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-01-13_hr\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mark Stone<\/a> left the prior game due to an upper body injury. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/moneypuck.com\/teams.htm\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Both teams<\/a> are very similar in goal scoring at 5v5, and in goals against. From a possession stand point they are also right next to each other. This game has the ability to be a tight one. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">One area that gives the Oilers the edge is special teams play. Edmonton has the leagues best power play. But a difference that makes a greater overall impact is the depth. Vegas has better <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statmuse.com\/nhl\/team\/2022-23-vegas-golden-knights-38\/stats\/2023\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">depth scoring<\/a> overall than Edmonton.
