Today\u2019s featured game is the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/avalanche\/\" target=\"_self\">Colorado Avalanche<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/blues\/\" target=\"_self\">St. Louis Blues<\/a>. Be sure to check out our other set of predictions later today.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">NHL Predictions: Colorado Avalanche vs St Louis Blues<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Colorado Avalanche vs St. Louis Blues<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Head-to-Head: Avalanche 0-1 Blues<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Our featured game is a Central Division matchup and a rematch of last season&#8217;s Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Blues took the first meeting of the season, 3-2. Colorado is coming off a shootout loss to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/rangers\/\" target=\"_self\">New York Rangers<\/a> on Friday night. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/georgal01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alexandar Georgiev<\/a> will likely draw the start in goal after a strong start against the Blueshirts. The Avs offence hasn&#8217;t been as vaunted as other years as they&#8217;re 24th goals for. St. Louis has lost four of its last five and there&#8217;s some real trouble surrounding the club for the first time in a while. The Blues are 28th in goals allowed and 19th in goals for. St. Louis&#8217; league-worst penalty kill will have also deal with the second-best power play.<\/p>\n<p>An early-goal by the Avs could open the floodgates. The over\/under could worth a shout on this game.<\/p>\n<p><em>Prediction: Avalanche win 5-2.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Los Angeles Kings vs Columbus Blue Jackets<\/h3>\n<h4>Head-to-Head: Kings 0-0 Blue Jackets<\/h4>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/kings\/\" target=\"_self\"> Los Angeles Kings<\/a> continue their Eastern road trip looking to make things happen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/q\/quickjo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jonathan Quick<\/a> will likely draw the start after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/copleph01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pheonix Copley<\/a> started Saturday night&#8217;s game in Montreal. Los Angeles had lost three of its last five going into Saturday night&#8217;s action. The Kings are seventh in goals for with 96 going into Saturday&#8217;s games.<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/bluejackets\/\" target=\"_self\"> Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2022\/12\/02\/columbus-blue-jackets-announce-injury-news\/\" target=\"_self\"> continue to deal with a run of injuries<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/korpijo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joonas Korpisalo<\/a> the latest name. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/merzlel01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elvis Merzlikins<\/a> will probably get the start of the Jackets in goal. Columbus did win the first round of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/gaudrjo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Johnny Gaudreau<\/a> Bowl with a victory over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/flames\/\" target=\"_self\">Calgary Flames<\/a> on Friday night. However, their power play is dead-last in the league and only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/lainepa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Patrik Laine<\/a> seems to be scoring.<\/p>\n<p>The Kings need to close out the road trip with a win and should get one here. Columbus seems to be just a little too banged up at the moment.<\/p>\n<p><em>Prediction: Kings win 4-2.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Seattle Kraken vs. Florida Panthers<\/h3>\n<h4>Head-to-Head: Kraken 0-1 Panthers<\/h4>\n<p>Our last game in this slate of predictions features the<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/seattle-kraken\/\" target=\"_self\"> Seattle Kraken<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/panthers\/\" target=\"_self\">Florida Panthers<\/a>. Florida did win the first meeting of the season, 5-1. Seattle has lost three straight games, but can put in the goals from multiple sources. However, the offence has only scored four goals during that losing streak. Phillipp Grubauer will likely start for the Kraken.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/knighsp01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spencer Knight<\/a> will probably get the call with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bobrose01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sergei Bobrovsky<\/a> starting against the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/lightning\/\" target=\"_self\">Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a> on Saturday night. The team does carry three goalies with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/lyonal01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alex Lyon<\/a>, so check online before you make a daily fantasy hockey decision. Florida had won three of its last five going into Saturday afternoon&#8217;s game. The Panthers have scored five goals in each of those last three victories.<\/p>\n<p>Both teams can score goals and the over of 6.5 could still be manageable.
