His <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naturalstattrick.com\/playerreport.php?fromseason=20222023&amp;thruseason=20222023&amp;stype=2&amp;sit=all&amp;stdoi=oi&amp;rate=n&amp;v=p&amp;playerid=8471724\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">possession numbers<\/a> were 54.47 percent Corsi and a relative Corsi of 13.86. Over his 17-year NHL career, Letang has been a career player for the Penguins, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/penguins\/news\/pens-draft-history-kris-letang\/c-634406\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">initially drafted by Pittsburgh<\/a> in the third round of the 2005 NHL Draft, going 62nd overall. He has 145 goals and 517 assists for 662 career points in 962 career games. He holds the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/penguins\/news\/kris-letang-out-indefinitely-after-having-stroke\/c-338219704?partnerId=pit-twt-penguins\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">franchise records<\/a> among defensemen for goals, assists, points, and both regular-season and playoff appearances, and led the Penguins to three Stanley Cup Championships.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Looking Forward to Recovery<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Letang missed two months of playing time in 2014 due to a previous stroke. In his statement released alongside the team\u2019s, The veteran player said, \u201cI am fortunate to know my body well enough to recognize when something isn\u2019t right. While it is difficult to navigate this issue publicly, I am hopeful it can raise awareness. It is important for me that my teammates, family, and fans know that I am okay. I am optimistic that I will be back on the ice soon.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">General Manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/hextaro01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ron Hextall<\/a> echoed the player&#8217;s statement after Kris Letang stroke, stating: \u201cThe test results were shocking to hear, but we are grateful Kris is doing well\u2026He is a warrior on the ice, but first and foremost, he is a son, father, husband, and friend.
