Through four games in the 2022-23 season, he&#8217;s posted a 2.00 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage. He has posted a career 5-0-2 record in seven career games with the Hurricanes, with a career 2.16 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage, as well as one career shutout. In four appearances for the Hurricanes in last season&#8217;s playoffs, he posted a 1-2 record.<\/p>\n<p>In the 2021-22 season, Kochetkov had 15 appearances with the Hurricanes&#8217; AHL affiliate team, the Chicago Wolves, posting a .921 save percentage and a 2.09 goals-against average. He helped lead the Wolves to a Calder Cup win last season, putting up a 5-1 record and two shutouts in six playoff appearances. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhl.com\/player\/pyotr-kochetkov-8481611?stats=career-r-ahl&amp;season=null\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">five AHL appearances<\/a> this year, Kochetkov has a 3.00 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.\u00a0 Last season was Kochetkov&#8217;s first season playing in North America, coming off three seasons in the KHL. The Hurricanes selected Kochetkov in the 2019 NHL draft, with the Russian native picked in the second round at 36th overall.<\/p>\n<h3>What This Means for the Hurricanes<\/h3>\n<p>Signing Kochetkov means that the Hurricanes slot another capable backup into their goalie lineup, as well as making a solid investment in the future of the goaltending position.
