The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/ducks\/\" target=\"_self\">Anaheim Ducks<\/a> have been pretty bad to start the season and are in the race for Connor Bedard. Anaheim has lost four of its last five and is at the bottom of the league in many categories. The Ducks are last in power play success, penalty killing and goals against.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"WXzmSRPKRell4KGqLU1dEg\" class=\"gie-single\" style=\"color: #a7a7a7; text-decoration: none; font-weight: normal !important; border: none; display: inline-block;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gettyimages.com\/detail\/1240221243\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Embed from Getty Images<\/a><script>window.gie=window.gie||function(c){(gie.q=gie.q||[]).push(c)};gie(function(){gie.widgets.load({id:'WXzmSRPKRell4KGqLU1dEg',sig:'epoKNdBxCdhfDEaGwZd21HclYiSguCoLgil8Es8t66k=',w:'594px',h:'440px',items:'1240221243',caption: true ,tld:'com',is360: false })});<\/script><script src='\/\/embed-cdn.gettyimages.com\/widgets.js' charset='utf-8' async><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/blues\/\" target=\"_self\">St. Louis Blues<\/a> have righted the ship with five straight victories after a terrible start. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/binnijo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jordan Binnington<\/a> probably gets the start for the Blues, who have scored at least three goals a game during this recent run. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/kyroujo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jordan Kyrou<\/a> leads the team in goals with six while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/f\/faulkju01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Justin Faulk<\/a> is tops in assists with nine.<\/p>\n<p>The Blues are playing better hockey and it will show here.<\/p>\n<p><em>Prediction: Blues win 4-2.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Carolina Hurricanes at Minnesota Wild<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Head-to-Head: Hurricanes 0-0 Wild<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Our featured game has two teams coming off losses in their last encounter. The Hurricanes have lost three of their five games, including a 3-2 defeat to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/avalanche\/\" target=\"_self\">Colorado Avalanche<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/raantan01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Antti Raanta<\/a> likely gets the start in between the pipes. Carolina has struggled to score goals, but it has a solid defence that&#8217;s sixth in goals allowed.<\/p>\n<p>The Wild have lost three straight games and have been very streaky this season. Minnesota has shown it can play solid defence, but it can be leaky at other times. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/gustafi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Filip Gustavsson<\/a> is the probable starter for the Wild in net.<\/p>\n<p>The under of six is a tempting number and could be worthy of a play. Carolina is dealing with injuries, but should get the win here.<\/p>\n<p><em>Prediction: Hurricanes win 3-2.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>New York Islanders at Dallas Stars<\/h3>\n<h4>Head-to-Head: Islanders 0-0 Stars<\/h4>\n<p>These two teams are in the top 10 in goal scoring and goals against to start the season. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/islanders\/\" target=\"_self\">New York Islanders<\/a> are coming off a 5-4 loss to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/predators\/\" target=\"_self\">Nashville Predators<\/a>, but have three wins in the last five games. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/sorokil01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ilya Sorokin<\/a> is probable to draw the start for the Islanders. New York is eighth in goals scored with 61 thanks to good starts from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/n\/nelsobr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brock Nelson<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/barzama01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mathew Barzal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/o\/oettija01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jake Oettinger<\/a> is probable to start <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2022\/11\/17\/scott-wedgewood-stretchered-off-ice\/\" target=\"_self\">after the nasty injured<\/a> that occurred to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/w\/wedgesc01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Scott Wedgewood<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/stars\/\" target=\"_self\">Dallas Stars<\/a> are second in goals scored and seventh in goals allowed. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/roberja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jason Robertson<\/a> and his hot start has him leading in goals (11) and assists (15) for Dallas. The Stars are also third on the power play and fifth on the penalty kill.<\/p>\n<p>This should be a good game and don&#8217;t underestimate the Islanders. However, the Stars should get the home win.<\/p>\n<p><em>Prediction: Stars win 4-3.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Tampa Bay Lightning at Nashville Predators<\/h3>\n<h4>Head-to-Head: Lightning 0-0 Predators<\/h4>\n<p>Our last game will be full of Southern hospitality. Both teams are on three-game winning streaks coming into this game.
