Today\u2019s featured game is the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/wild\/\" target=\"_self\">Minnesota Wild<\/a> vs. <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/blackhawks\/\" target=\"_self\">Chicago Blackhawks.<\/a> be sure to check out our other slates\u00a0of\u00a0NHL Predictions\u00a0too.<\/p>\n<h2>NHL Predictions: Minnesota Wild vs Chicago Blackhawks<\/h2>\n<h3>Columbus Blue Jackets at New Jersey Devils<\/h3>\n<h4>Head to Head: Blue Jackets 0 \u2013 0 Devils<\/h4>\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/bluejackets\/\" target=\"_self\"> Columbus Blue Jackets<\/a> have been leaking goals to start the season, as they&#8217;ve given 37 so far this season. This statistic means the Jackets are 31st in the league. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/merzlel01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elvis Merzlikins<\/a> has struggled so far this season, but there is hope <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/korpijo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joonas Korpisalo<\/a> can return soon. Korpisalo has been rehabbing with AHL Cleveland. They&#8217;ll have to get that fixed if they want to salvage something out of this season.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/devils\/\" target=\"_self\">New Jersey Devils<\/a> have been surprising at 5-3 this season. However, they&#8217;ll have to <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2022\/10\/29\/ondrej-palat-new-jersey-devils-place-on-ir\/\" target=\"_self\">deal with the loss<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/palaton01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ondrej Palat<\/a>. New Jersey has done a better job on defense as its 10th in the league in goals against. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/brattje01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jesper Bratt<\/a> has three goals and 10 assists for 13 points to lead in all those categories.<\/p>\n<p>New Jersey&#8217;s penalty kill has been great at 92.6 percent so far, which is good enough for fourth. Seems unlikely the Jackets will break their power-play drought in this one. Vitek Vanacek is the expected starter for the game, but always check Twitter the morning of a game to get confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>The Devils seem more equipped to scratch out a win here with the more sound defence. Keep in mind the early 2 p.m. Eastern Time puck drop for fantasy hockey purposes.<\/p>\n<p><em>Prediction: Devils win 4-1.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>Minnesota Wild at Chicago Blackhawks<\/h3>\n<h3>Head-to-Head: Wild 0-0 Blackhawks<\/h3>\n<p>Both teams are coming off losses on the first night of a back-to-back set. The Wild were beaten 2-1 by the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/redwings\/\" target=\"_self\">Detroit Red Wings<\/a> on Saturday night. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/f\/fleurma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marc-Andre Fleury<\/a> will get the start after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/gustafi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Filip Gustavsson<\/a> made 23 saves the game before. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/kapriki01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kirill Kaprizov<\/a> is starting to get going as he&#8217;s got six goals already for 2022-23. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/a\/addisca01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Calen Addison<\/a> doesn&#8217;t have a goal, but he does have seven assists to pace the Wild in that category.<\/p>\n<p>Both teams are similar in goals for and power-play success rate. However, the Wild struggled in the early part of the season in stopping teams. Minnesota is still 25th in goals allowed despite some better defensive play in the last few games.<\/p>\n<p>Chicago has looked better than experts have suggestion, but that&#8217;s because expectations are on the floor. The Blackhawks lost 4-3 in overtime to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/sabres\/\" target=\"_self\">Buffalo Sabres<\/a> on Saturday night. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/staloal01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alex Stalock<\/a> likely gets the start with an early afternoon start on game two of a back-to-back. Stalock has a 3.00 goals-against-average and .917 save percentage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/d\/domima01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Max Domi<\/a> leads the Blackhawks in goals with four so far this campaign. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/kanepa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Patrick Kane<\/a> has six assists as both players<a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/2022\/10\/11\/nhl-rumour-chicago-blackhawks-star-could-be-headed-to-original-six-franchise\/\" target=\"_self\"> could be trade bait.<\/a> Chicago could be picking up draft picks as the rebuild is in full swing.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the first of four meetings between the Central Division rivals. Keep an eye on what team gets off to a quicker start with the early faceoff time. Minnesota did win two straight before losing in Detroit.
