Fleury settled in well within the Wild organization. A move that saw the Quebec native start five playoff games within the first round of the Western Conference. The Wild had undoubtedly the best team in franchise history last season but continued to come up short despite initially leading the series against the St Louis Blues.

It was unclear if the Wild’s salary cap could accommodate both Fleury and fellow goaltender Cam Talbot. However, Fleury’s experience and stability will be a bonus to the Wild until fresh blood emerges. The veteran goaltender, despite his many achievements, only has a few more seasons in him. This contract reflects that. Fleury coming in at $3,500,000 will help the Wild with their upcoming salary cap bottleneck. Having a starting goalie locked to under $4,000,000 provides stability.

The Minnesota Wild re-sign three-time Stanley Cup Champion Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to a 2-year contract worth $7 million, or $3.5 million per season.
