Today\u2019s featured game is the Washington Capitals vs Florida Panthers.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h2><b>NHL Predictions with Washington Capitals vs Florida Panthers<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Washington Capitals vs Florida Panthers<\/b><\/h3>\n<h4><b>Head-to-Head: Capitals 0 &#8211; 0 Panthers<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tonight, two Eastern Conference heavyweights face off. The Florida Panthers sit atop the Atlantic Division, courtesy of a nearly perfect 8-0-1 record. The Washington Capitals are in third place in the always-competitive Metropolitan Division, going 5-1-3 through nine games. Both teams enter this game fresh off losses\u2014the first defeat of the season for Florida, and the first regulation loss for Washington.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/kuzneev01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Evgeny Kuznetsov<\/a> will be a player to watch on the Capitals. He currently holds a three-game point streak\u2014a goal and three assists\u2014and is second on his team in points, with his 13 trailing only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/o\/ovechal01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alex Ovechkin<\/a>\u2019s 15. On the other side of the ice, Panthers goaltender <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bobrose01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sergei Bobrovsky<\/a> will be key to Florida\u2019s success. He has had six starts this season and won all of them. Bobrovsky is within the top five goaltenders league-wide in save percentage (.944), goals against average (1.81), and goals saved above average (6).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Should <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bennesa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sam Bennett<\/a>\u2019s day-to-day injury prevent him from playing this game, it will be a significant blow to the Panthers lineup. However, the Capitals are also missing players, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/o\/oshietj01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">T.J. Oshie<\/a>. Expect the Panthers to take this game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Predictions: Panthers win, 4-2<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>New York Islanders vs Montreal Canadiens<\/b><\/h3>\n<h4><b>Head-to-Head: Islanders 0 &#8211; 0 Canadiens<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both contenders from last season\u2019s playoffs, the New York Islanders and Montreal Canadiens have gotten off to slow starts this year. However, Islanders goaltender <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/sorokil01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ilya Sorokin<\/a> has been excellent in an injured <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/v\/varlasi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Semyon Varlamov<\/a>\u2019s stead. First-line winger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/b\/bailejo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Bailey<\/a> has also been hot as of late, scoring a goal and three assists in the last three games. Montreal, on the other hand, will be missing several key pieces, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/g\/gallabr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brendan Gallagher<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/perrema01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mathieu Perreault<\/a>. Though neither team has looked particularly strong thus far, the Islanders are doing better in a more competitive division and should therefore have an edge on the Canadiens in this matchup.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prediction: Islanders win, 2-0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Vegas Golden Knights vs Ottawa Senators<\/b><\/h3>\n<h4><b>Head-to-Head: Golden Knights 0 &#8211; 0 Senators<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both the Vegas Golden Knights and Ottawa Senators come into tonight\u2019s game fresh off losses. Notably, injuries continue to be a problem for the Golden Knights. On Monday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/k\/karlswi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">William Karlsson<\/a> joined the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/pacioma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Max Pacioretty<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/s\/stonema01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mark Stone<\/a> on the list of sidelined players. The Senators have sustained a few injuries of their own, including an upper-body one to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/p\/pintosh01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Shane Pinto<\/a>. However, Ottawa\u2019s recent losses have stemmed more from bad defence than anything else. Though Vegas\u2019s forward lines certainly aren\u2019t running at full strength, they should still be enough to get past Ottawa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Prediction: Golden Knights win, 3-1<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><b>Detroit Red Wings vs Boston Bruins<\/b><\/h3>\n<h4><b>Head-to-Head: Red Wings 0 &#8211; 0 Bruins<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though the Detroit Red Wings lead the Boston Bruins in the Atlantic Division standings, it\u2019s worth noting that they\u2019ve played more games than the Bruins. Detroit lost to the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday to extend their losing streak to three, while Boston eeked out an upset win over the Florida Panthers. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/n\/nedelal01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alex Nedeljkovic<\/a> has been solid in net for the Red Wings, with a .911 save percentage. For the Bruins, second-line centre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/c\/coylech01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Charlie Coyle<\/a> has two goals and a shootout goal through the last three games. Detroit has pulled off some surprising wins, but this one should go to Boston.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prediction: Bruins win, 3-2<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><b>Philadelphia Flyers vs Pittsburgh Penguins<\/b><\/h3>\n<h4><b>Head-to-Head: Flyers 0 &#8211; 0 Penguins<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cross-state rivals will go head to head as the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins meet for the first time this season. Both teams are in the Metropolitan Division, with the Flyers in the middle of the pack and the Penguins at last. Philadelphia enters tonight\u2019s contest off a win over the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/hockey\/category\/coyotes\/\" target=\"_self\">Arizona Coyotes<\/a>. On the other hand, Pittsburgh comes in with the hope of stopping their current three-game skid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the Flyers, generating offence immediately will be key. The team started their last two games sluggishly, causing them to rely heavily on netminder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/h\/hartca01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carter Hart<\/a>. However, Hart can\u2019t be expected to bail the team out every night. The Flyers will have to figure out a way to control possession and put more shots on goal from the outset to lighten his workload.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Penguins have been dealing with their own struggles, mostly surrounding injuries and illness. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/m\/malkiev01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Evgeni Malkin<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/r\/rustbr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bryan Rust<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hockey-reference.com\/players\/l\/letankr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kris Letang<\/a> were already sidelined by injuries.
