He also added two shutouts to his resume. His NHL career stats show a 19-21-1 record with a .909 save percentage and a 2.79 goals-against-average. While in the AHL, Hill played for both the Springfield Falcons and Tucson Roadrunners. He tallied a 67-50-16 record with 10 shutouts. Hill has been a skilled backup, and may attempt to compete with Reimer for the starting role. Both goalies are signed for two years at this point.

What This Means Going Forward

Since the Sharks traded away Martin Jones to the Philadelphia Flyers and Korenar to Arizona, they needed to acquire two goaltenders. This offseason has been a whirlwind of goalies switching teams. The Sharks hope to have their tandem of Reimer and Hill in there to protect the net going forward. Getting Hill signed has assured them that the goaltending position has been resolved.

Main Photo:

Embed from Getty Images

Kevin Kurtz who covers the San Jose Sharks for @theAthleticNHL tweeted that the San Jose Sharks are finalizing a two-year deal with goalie Adin Hill.
