It is has been a wild and crazy NHL off-season thus far.\u00a0 With that being said, the Last Word on Hockey Show was back on the MAD Radio Network<\/a>. Your host\u00a0Jim Biringer from lastwordonhockey.com<\/a> was back alongside Marc Weiss and Coach Jay. This was the one-year anniversary edition of the program as well as the season finale. In this edition, the boys broke down NHL Free Agency. The previous week, the boys looked at Seth Jones<\/a> Trade, and much more. This week the boys discuss the Dougie Hamilton<\/a> being signed by New Jersey, Ryan Reaves<\/a> Trade, Alex Ovechkin<\/a> signing, the goalie carousel, and much more.<\/p>\n

The Last Word on Hockey Show: Dougie Hamilton Signed<\/h2>\n

Dougie Hamilton was Signed By Devils<\/h3>\n

Jim welcomes everyone to the show. The boys go down memory lane before jumping into a look at free agency. Jim talks about the big fish Dougie Hamilton as he was signed<\/a> by the New Jersey Devils. Marc agrees with Jim that the Devils defence has become better. This always them to slot everyone where they should be in the lineup. In addition, Jim and Coach Jay talk about the Jonathan Bernier<\/a> signing. Coach Jay says Bernier will be a good backup to Mackenzie Blackwood<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ryan Reaves Trade and More Rangers News<\/h3>\n

Jim switches the show to talk about the New York Rangers. The boys discuss the trade for Ryan Reaves<\/a> from Vegas Golden Knights and the extension<\/a> that is in the works. Marc and Coach Jay believe the Rangers have changed their identity and will be tougher to play against once the season starts. Just like New Jersey, the Rangers addressed areas of need. With Barclay Goodrow<\/a>, Sammy Blais<\/a>, now Reaves, the Rangers definitely are harder to play against for sure.<\/p>\n

Alex Ovechkin<\/h3>\n

Jim then transitions the show over to the Washington Capitals and Alex Ovechkin<\/a>. The boys discuss his new contract<\/a> with the Capitals. They all agree the extra years are there for him to chase down Wayne Gretzky<\/a>‘s goal-scoring record. They also discuss how the contract might come back and hurt the Capitals considering they have not won a playoff series since Barry Trotz left.<\/p>\n

NHL Free Agency Recap<\/h3>\n

The boys then do a recap of the NHL Free Agency going over the top signings from Gabriel Landeskog<\/a> to Zach Hyman<\/a> and everyone in between. They touch on the Tampa Bay Lightning bringing in Corey Perry<\/a>, plus some interesting signings as well.<\/p>\n

In addition, the boys look at the goalie carousel market, who went where and if they fit. Also, discuss the Marc-Andre Fleury<\/a> trade<\/a>, and go down memory looking back at the past year of the show<\/p>\n
