The Toronto Maple Leafs have made another signing in free agency. They add winger Ondrej Kase, signing him to a one-year deal worth $1.25 million. The 25-year-old became an unrestricted free agent when he did not receive a qualifying offer<\/a> from the Boston Bruins<\/a> earlier this week. The Leafs made the announcement over their Twitter Account on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Ondrej Kase Signs with the Toronto Maple Leafs<\/h2>\n

Last season, Kase was limited to just three games for the Bruins after he suffered the fifth documented concussion of his career. In 2019-20 Kase was traded from the Anaheim Ducks to the Boston Bruins. In 54 games that season he scored seven goals and 17 assists for 24 points. Kase also added 14 minutes in penalties. In the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs Kase added four assists in 11 games for Boston. His possession numbers were 53.2 percent Corsi-For, and a relative Corsi of +4.5.<\/p>\n

Over his five-year NHL career, Kase has played for the Bruins and the Ducks. He has 43 goals and 54 assists for 97 career points in 207 career NHL games. His career possession numbers are 53.6 percent Corsi-For and +5.1 Relative Corsi. Kase has also added two goals and four assists for six points in 24 career Stanley Cup Playoff Games. The Kadan, Czech Republic native<\/span>\u00a0was originally selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the seventh round (205th<\/sup>\u00a0overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft.<\/span><\/p>\n
