In 267 career games, he has put up 32 goals and 70 assists for 102 points. He also has 110 minutes in penalties, 225 blocks, 163 hits and 144 giveaways. Dunn has played in 29 career playoff games and has two goals, nine assists, 11 points, 16 minutes in penalties, 26 blocks, 25 hits and 18 giveaways.

Last season, he had six goals, 14 assists, 20 points, 18 minutes in penalties, 51 blocks, 36 hits and 26 giveaways. He averaged more minutes of ice time than any other season so far with 19:04 per game. Dunn had possession numbers of 54.3% Corsi and a relative Corsi of 7.3, which were both the worst possession numbers of his career so far. He was injured for all four of the Blues’ games against the Colorado Avalanche in the first round of the playoffs so he did not play.

Dunn was selected by the Kraken during the expansion draft.

What This Means For the Future

Dunn has proven that he can put up a decent amount of points for a defenceman. He’s even proven that he has what it takes defensively to help lead a team to a Stanley Cup championship. The problem is, ever since that championship, his defence has not been the same. He has a tendency to be streaky. He will have a decent stretch of games and then have a stretch of games so bad that he seems like a liability on the ice. If he can be a consistent and dependable defenceman, the Kraken will be benefit from his services considering their loaded blueline that includes Adam Larsson and Jamie Oleksiak.

Main Photo:

Embed from Getty Images

The Seattle Kraken have re-signed free-agent defenceman Vince Dunn to a two-year contract worth $ eight million.
