The Stanley Cup Playoffs are down to the Final Four as we are at the semifinal round. The Last Word on Hockey Show was back on the MAD Radio Network<\/a>. Your host\u00a0Jim Biringer from lastwordonhockey.com<\/a> was back alongside Coach Jay and March Weiss. Last week the boys were live<\/a> from the Marriott across the street from Nassau Coliseum prior to Game 4 against the Boston Bruins. This week the boys were back on the road again live from the Hurricanes practice facility. They discuss the New York Islanders-Tampa Bay Lightning series, Montreal Canadiens-Vegas Golden Knights Series, Tuukka Rask<\/a>\u00a0injury, and so much more.<\/p>\n

Islanders vs Lightning<\/h3>\n

Jim welcomes everyone to the show live on the road again as Willie Nelson sang. He opens up the show talking Islanders-Lightning<\/a> Stanley Cup semifinal. Marc, Jay, and Jim tie a bow on the Islanders-Bruins series. They look at how the two teams match up. Which team has more depth and how the Islanders can beat the Lightning in the series? Jim also admits that general manager Lou Lamoriello still has got it with the moves of bringing in Barry Trotz, Jean-Gabriel Pageau<\/a>, Kyle Palmieri<\/a>, Travis Zajac<\/a> and others. But as all three noted, it was Garth Snow<\/a> who built this Islanders team, Lamoriello is just taking them to the next level.<\/p>\n

Canadiens vs Golden Knights<\/h3>\n

Jim then moves the show over to the Canadiens-Golden Knights<\/a> Stanley Cup semifinal. The Canadiens are in this position after knocking out the Jets, while Vegas took out Colorado. Jim notes, which Marc agrees, the Canadiens are better suited to play against Vegas than Colorado. Coach Jay looks at the Hall of Fame goaltending battle between the pipes between Carey Price<\/a> and Marc-Andre Fleury<\/a>. Jim gives updates on Jake Evans<\/a> and Jeff Petry<\/a> as they break down the matchups.<\/p>\n

Tuukka Rask<\/h3>\n

The boys then look at the Bruins and goaltender Tuukka Rask. They talk about his torn labrum in his hip and why he was in the rest of the series against the Islanders. And whose call it was to keep him in the series. Coach Jay notes his movement did not look right and maybe the Bruins should have started Jeremy Swayman<\/a>. Swayman looked good in his appearance in Game 5. You have to wonder if the Bruins started Swayman things might have been different. But as Jim notes again the secondary scoring went away and it was not all Rask’s fault. With Rask, Taylor Hall, David Krejci, and others being free agents, do they bring these guys back. And for Rask, does the team sign him knowing he will be out until at least January or February of 2022 to give them cap space using LTIR.<\/p>\n

The boys close out talking about Mark Scheifele<\/a> and the Winnipeg Jets<\/a>, Nazem Kadri<\/a> and the Colorado Avalanche<\/a>, Adam Fox<\/a> Norris nomination, and much more.<\/p>\n
